The Economic Substance (ES) Law in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) became effective on 1 Jan 2019 and existing BVI entities carrying out any of the relevant activities are required to comply with the ES requirement from 30 Jun 2019. In this "Happy Hour & Learn" event, Sherri Ortiz-Fahie, Director of BVI House Asia, will share with the audience the general business environment and the latest development of the ES regime in the BVI. That will be followed by a free and open discussion on the typical business structures involving BVI entities and common issues on complying with the ES requirement of the BVI moderated by Ms. Anita Tsang, the Vice-Chairperson of the International Tax Committee of the Institute.
